Q After I make a change to Samba configuration file, do I need to kill and restart the Samba daemons?
A For most configuration changes, you do not need to do anything. Samba periodically checks to determine whether the configuration file has changed. If it has, it is reloaded. There are some subtleties to this. First, if you make changes to a share definition, any users currently connected to it can't see the changes until they disconnect and remount the share. Secondly, some changes require that Samba be restarted such as the NetBIOS name or the workgroup parameters.
Q Can Samba be a member of more than one workgroup at the same time?
